The Art of Mindful Massage

A Foundation Course in Thai Yoga Massage
Our 6-day course in mindful massage offers a profound experience of meditation in movement, deep relaxation, and connection with others  through both the giving and receiving of touch. The ancient healing art of Thai yoga Massage combines Buddhist teachings of compassion and awareness with the physical practice of Yoga asana.
During the course you will learn how to:
  • Touch with confidence and awareness

  • Use your whole body to work effectively, efficiently and safely

  • Move with the power and support of the breath

  • Improve energy flow within your own body

  • Develop your quality of touch and presence in giving and receiving

  • Give a balanced, whole-body massage working in prone, supine and seated positions

Who is the course for?

The course is open to everybody. Whether you are a complete beginner to massage and want to learn a skill to share with family and friends or you are an experienced practitioner in another modality (e.g. counselling, psychotherapy, dance, martial arts or yoga) and wish to enhance your skill-base, this course is for you.  All are welcome.
This module (or the equivalent with another teacher or school) is a pre-requisite for the professional diploma course.

What to expect?

Yoga, grounding, self care, chanting are integral aspects of this course. During the 6 days (either 2 x 3-day weekends or 3 weekends) you will gain the tools and experience to be able to give a balanced Thai Massage in supine and prone position. It offers an excellent foundation for any massage, dance, yoga or martial arts practice. The only course requirement is simply to be comfortable working at floor level.
